Bangkok,1961
Vudhikrai Sovannakran was born in Bangkok in 1961 and is a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain. His passion for photography began during his school years at Assumption College, where he first picked up a camera and discovered the art of capturing moments. Over the years, he has become recognized for his striking fashion editorials and expressive portraiture.
Since 2008, Vudhikrai has been contributing images to leading international stock agencies, including Getty Images, Shutterstock, Dreamstime, and iStock. His work spans fashion, portraiture, stock photography, and commercial art. Alongside his practice, he has shared his expertise through photography seminars and online courses, nurturing aspiring photographers across Thailand.
From 2017 to 2021, Vudhikrai served as Head of the Digital Photography Department at Bangkok University’s Faculty of Digital Media and Cinematic Arts. In this role, he was instrumental in designing the undergraduate photography curriculum, developing courses, and leading studio-based instruction.
Today, he continues to balance professional assignments with teaching, while remaining committed to creating imagery that blends artistry with authenticity.
Artist Statement
My work is driven by a constant curiosity to explore new perspectives, experiment with light, and create images that evoke atmosphere and emotion. While my commercial photography fulfills the needs of clients, my personal projects allow me the freedom to pursue ideas that spark my imagination.
I hope my photographs bring delight and inspiration to those who view them, and I welcome the dialogue that arises from their responses.
